A corner of Palermo city (Source: ParadiseInTheWorld) Rome (VNA) – Vietnamese students has held a two-dayfestival in the southern Italy city of Palermo, which attracted more than 100participants.
Running on May 5 and 6 under the sponsor of the VietnamEmbassy in Italy and University of Palermo, the event featured football matchesamong universities, a Vietnamese Cultural Day event, and a music talentcontest.
On May 6, Mayor of Palermo Leoluca Orlando and VietnameseAmbassador Cao Chinh Thien attended the opening ceremony of the VietnameseCultural Day, which presented the country’s image through pictures andtraditional cuisine.
At the event, Ambassador Thien said amid the fruitful growthof Vietnam – Italy relations, educational engagements need to be stepped up andeach Vietnamese student in Italy should make efforts to become an ambassador ofVietnam.
Professor Eleonora Riva Sanseverino from the University ofPalermo said Vietnamese students have diversified Palermo’s culture and contributedto the growth of Vietnam – Italy cultural ties.
The annual festival offers a playground for overseasVietnamese students in Italy to meet and exchange information and knowledge, andsupport each other in life and study while connecting Vietnamese culture with internationalones.-VNA
