With the goal of leaving no one behind, ensuring that every resident has a warm Tet (Lunar New Year) celebration in 2025, Quang Yen township in the northern province of Quang Ninh, which was hard hit by Super Typhoon Yagi in early September 2024, has mobilised social resources and allocated budget funds to promptly assist people in repairing and rebuilding homes, especially for households affected by the typhoon.

Post-typhoon floods leave 181 dead, 145 missing

Heavy rains and floods triggered by super typhoon Yagi, one of the strongest to hit Vietnam in decades, had left 181 dead and 145 missing as of 10:00 pm on September 11, statistics show.

According to the Department of Dyke Management and Natural Disaster Prevention and Control (under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development), preliminary damage reports from localities as of 6 a.m. on September 9 indicate that 26 people have died or gone missing (an increase of 7 since the September 7 report) due to the impact of Super typhoon Yagi. The disaster also caused injuries to 247 people (61 more than reported on September 7).
