Vietnam will actively contribute to the international community’s joint efforts in maintaining peace, stability and development in the Middle East, including the settlement of the Israel-Palestine issue, a representative of the Vietnam Mission to the United Nations (UN), the World Trade Organisation and other organisations in Geneva, has affirmed.
Vietnam has called on all parties to redouble efforts to combat terrorism in the Shahel region and supported the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to have one, strong voice on the Israel – Palestine issue during a video teleconference (VTC) on May 18.
Given its friendly relations and cooperation with all countries in the Persian Gulf and the Middle East, Vietnam is willing to contribute to the formation of an environment that facilitates dialogue and cooperation for peace, stability, and prosperity in the region, Deputy Foreign Minister Dang Minh Khoi has said.
The United Nations Security Council held an open debate on the situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian question, on February 11, focusing on new developments after the US announced its Middle East peace plan.
