In early March, scenes of women in flowing Ao dai taking spring photos by lakes, parks, offices, temples and historical sites have become a familiar sight on the streets of Hanoi. Social media is also filled with images and stories surrounding the elegant attire, which has become a symbolic signal of the season dedicated to honouring women.

In celebration of the 115th anniversary of International Women’s Day (March 8, 1910 -2025) and other significant national events, the Vietnam Women’s Union has launched "Ao Dai Week" from March 1 to 8, 2025. This initiative aims to spread awareness, inspire community engagement, and reinforce the responsibility of preserving and promoting Vietnam’s cultural heritage.

The Vietnam Women's Union (VWU) on February 29 launched the annual Vietnam Ao Dai Week 2024 and organised an art performance programme to promote the value of the traditional costume in life, culture, and society.

The Community Ao Dai Week was launched recently in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue, to promote the beauty of Vietnam’s traditional outfit as well as local culture and tourism.
