Prime Minister Le Minh Hung affirmed that Vietnam’s new Government wishes to work closely with the Russian Government to push forward agreements reached between General Secretary and President Lam and President Putin, thereby elevating bilateral ties comprehensively.
Party General Secretary and State President To Lam's article marking the 101st anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day, PM Le Minh Hung's participation in the ASEAN – Russia Commemorative Summit, and the 14th National Congress of the Vietnam Women's Union are among news highlights on June 18.
The commemorative summit is regarded as an important occasion to deepen the ASEAN – Russia Strategic Partnership, reinforce political commitments, inject fresh momentum into cooperation and shape strategic orientations for the next phase of relations across the three pillars of politics – security, economy, and society – culture.
The PM lauded the role and highly effective activities of the Union of Vietnamese Organisations in Russia, along with business associations, fellow-countrymen associations, professional associations, and community organisations, in uniting the community, protecting their rights and legitimate interests, upholding national cultural identity, and maintaining bonds with the homeland.
As part of his trip to Russia to attend the ASEAN – Russia Commemorative Summit marking the 35th anniversary of ASEAN –Russia relations, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung attended and delivered a speech at the opening session of the Russia – ASEAN Business Forum in Kazan, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia, on the morning of June 17 (local time).
PM Hung’s participation in this summit once again reflects Vietnam’s consistent foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, resilience, peace, friendship, cooperation and development, as well as the diversification and multilateralisation of external relations in line with the spirit of the 14th National Party Congress.
With careful preparation and a long-term strategic vision, the trip is expected to contribute to strengthening ASEAN’s multilateral architecture while creating new breakthroughs in the Vietnam – Russia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
