Following the welcome ceremony, General Secretary and President Lam held a meeting with Governor-General Mostyn, and talks with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese. He witnessed the exchange of cooperation documents and met the press. He also had meetings with the President of the Australian Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

Governor-General Sam Mostyn reaffirmed Australia’s commitment to further advancing bilateral relations and highlighted her country’s interest in expanding investment in Vietnam.
The President held that bilateral ties, despite historical ups and downs, are now experiencing their most flourishing period in more than half a century since the establishment of diplomatic relations.
Thang noted that the HCMA and leading Australian universities and research institutes have developed effective cooperation mechanisms, with the Vietnam – Australia Centre at the academy serving as a bridge for joint research, scholar exchanges, and official and manager training programmes.
The trip comes as bilateral relations thrive, particularly since the elevation of their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in March 2024.
