While families across Vietnam celebrate the Lunar New Year, green-uniformed border guard soldiers remain steadfast, patrolling and safeguarding the country’s peaceful borders and islands.

A total of 110 scholarships worth 1 million VND (40.8 USD) each were presented to disadvantaged students with outstanding academic achievements in the southern province of Tra Vinh on January 3.

To safeguard Vietnam’s national sovereignty at sea, soldiers at the Con Dao border guard station off the coast of the southeastern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau have worked with local authorities and residents in socio-economic development and consolidating the all-people defence posture in the country’s southeastern seas.
