The People’s Court of Dak Lak will open the first-instance trial on January 16 for 100 defendants involved in a case of "terrorism aimed at opposing the people's administration, terrorism, organising illegal exit or entry for others, and harbouring criminals,” which happened in Cu Kuin district in the Central Highlands province on June 11, 2023.
Ethnic and religious issues in the Central Highlands have been frequently abused by reactionary and hostile forces to undermine Vietnam. However, those forces have always failed because of people’s solidarity and support for authorities’ reactions.
The sabotage arguments by hostile forces, the “bullets” intended to drive a wedge into the great national solidarity, failed to pierce through the firm shield of the truth and people’s solidarity.
Police have put 74 persons into temporary detention for their role in the recent armed attacks on the headquarters of two communal administrations in Cu Kuin district, the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak, as the local security and order situation has stabilised.

The Investigation Police Agency of Cu Kuin district in Dak Lak province has started legal proceedings against Y Wo Nie, a resident in the district, to investigate the act of “taking advantage of the right to freedom and democracy to infringe upon the interests of the State and the legitimate rights and interests of organisations and individuals” in accordance with Article 331 of the Penal Code 2015.
