Over four editions, Da Nang Asian Film Festival (DANAFF) has steadily established itself as a bridge connecting Vietnamese and Asian cinema with international audiences while creating new opportunities for Vietnam's film industry to integrate more deeply into the global market.
After three editions under the theme "Bridging Asia", DANAFF IV has adopted the new theme "Bridging Asia to the World", reflecting its ambition to connect Vietnamese cinema more closely with regional and global film industries.
Through this coordinated effort, Da Nang aims to establish DANAFF not only as an annual film event but also as a distinctive cultural landmark, helping position the city as a reputable destination for regional film and cultural events and enhancing its international profile, Vice Chairwoman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, said.
Directed by Indian filmmaker Rahhat Shah Kazmi and shot at various locations across Da Nang, including the Furama–Ariyana tourism complex, the project marks a step forward in cultural cooperation between the two countries.
DANAFF has announced its first workshop and project market for arthouse filmmakers around Asia.
The 2nd Da Nang Asian Film Festival (DANAFF II – 2024), which was kicked off in the central coastal city of Da Nang on July 2 evening, is treating festival-goers to a series of screening, conferences, and award activities.
