Local hospitals have been supplied with 6,000 bottles of Plasma-derived Intravenous Immunoglobulin (IVIG) for treatment of hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) which were delivered to Vietnam last week, according to the Drug Administration of Vietnam under the Ministry of Health.
Hand, foot and mouth disease is reaching its peak season in HCM City, with incidence doubling last month from August, according to the city Preventive Medicine Centre.
The hand, foot and mouth disease has broken out in Malaysia, with over 42,000 cases detected from January 1-August 3, including two fatalities, one each in Sarawak and Penang.
