In the first four months of 2026, Hanoi’s socio-economic situation remained stable, with many indicators recording positive results.

Hanoi’s economy continues its growth momentum in the first quarter of 2024, thanks to its activeness and flexibility in implementing socio-economic development measures, according to the municipal People’s Committee.

Hanoi is looking to drive the sustainable development of the capital’s economy by taking a series of measures that include developing its industrial sector and product competitiveness in order to play an ever evolving role as it integrates with the global supply chain.

Hanoi’s economy still expanded despite impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic, with its gross regional domestic product (GRDP) up 5.91 precent in the six months of 2021, higher than 3.39 percent recorded in the same period last year, said Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Le Hong Son.

Hanoi’s consumer price index (CPI) in May increased by 0.65 percent from the previous month, reported the city Statistics Office.

Hanoi has recorded a GDP growth rate of 6.99 percent in the first quarter of this year, equivalent to the same period in 2018, it was reported at a meeting of the municipal People’s Committee on March 26.

Hanoi shipped goods overseas for 14.23 billion USD in 2018, an annual increase of 21.6 percent, reported the municipal Department of Industry and Trade.

Up to 12,100 new enterprises were established in the capital city of Hanoi in the first six months of 2018, with total registered capital of 124 trillion VND (around 5.46 billion USD).

Hanoi’s industrial production index rose by 7.8 percent in the first five months of this year, said Director of the municipal Department of Planning and Investment Nguyen Manh Quyen.

Foreign direct investment in Hanoi amounted to 744 million USD in the first four months of 2018.

After four months of development, the Hanoi business information portal was launched with two domain names – http://hanoibusiness.vn and http://hanoibusiness.com.vn.

Domestic trade and services turnover in the capital city of Hanoi amounted to 1,719 trillion VND (75.6 billion USD) between January and September, an annual increase of 9.6 percent.

Hanoi’s economy has expanded since the beginning of this year with steady growth recorded in all the key sectors of industry, trade, tourism and services and agriculture, reported the municipal People’s Committee.
