Vietnam’s textile sector shifts toward value-driven growth

After a strong rebound in 2025, Vietnam’s textile and garment industry is entering 2026 with greater flexibility and a renewed strategic focus. Market diversification needed to further boost rice export: official

Vietnam’s rice industry has the capacity to maintain export targets, but businesses need to actively expand markets and reduce dependence on a few major partners to build a more sustainable foundation for growth, said Nguyen Anh Son, Director of the Import-Export Department under the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

Vietnam seeks to diversify markets to reduce export risks

According to experts, US President Donald Trump’s recent signing of an order imposing tariffs on exports from Canada and Mexico, as well as increasing tariffs on products from China, is seen as the beginning of the tariff policies under the Trump administration. This also leaves the possibility of the US imposing tariffs on imports from other countries.

Vietnam's textile export turnover hits 44 billion USD in 2024

Vietnam's textile and garment industry has fulfilled its 44-billion-USD export turnover target in 2024, an increase of over 11% compared to 2023, thanks to efforts in market diversification, technological innovation, and effectively capitalising on the shift in orders.
