A grand ceremony and military parade has been held on September 2 morning at Ba Dinh Square, Hanoi, to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day.
The Vietnamese Government will provide the most favourable conditions for the two defence ministries to continue strengthening relations in line with each country’s needs and capabilities.
State President Luong Cuong and a high-ranking delegation of Vietnam attended a military parade in Beijing on September 3 at the invitation of General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and President of China Xi Jinping.
The nearly three-hour military parade, featuring over 16,000 troops, showcased the full spectrum of Vietnam’s defence capabilities across air, land, and sea, according to German media.
Russia’s TASS news agency noted this was the first time since 1985 that Ba Dinh Square hosted a large-scale military parade, with diverse forces and heavy equipment on display.
The parade comprised military and police formations marching in unison across the historic square, accompanied by large-scale displays of weapons, equipment, aircraft, and naval vessels at sea, set to resounding military music under autumn skies filled with fluttering red flags and yellow stars.
Their presence in the parade is not only a military exchange activity but also a vivid testament to the solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the Vietnam People’s Army and the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces.
Nearly 16,000 officers and soldiers from units under the Ministries of National Defence and Public Security joined the second joint rehearsal for the military parade and march celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 – 2025) and National Day (September 2, 1945 – 2025) in Hanoi on August 5.
