The National Press Festival 2026 concluded in the northern port city of Hai Phong on June 21, leaving a strong impression on journalists and the public, according to Nguyen Duc Loi, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists’ Association and head of the organising committee.
The festival was considered a major celebration for journalists nationwide and formed part of activities marking the 101st anniversary of Vietnam’s Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 – 2026).
At this year’s festival, the Vietnam News Agency also received three top prizes, comprising one A Prize for its outstanding exhibition booth and two others for outstanding journalistic products in the digital media category.
The National Press Festival 2026 themed “Vietnamese Journalism: Loyalty, Creativity, Responsibility in the New Era,” is being held in the northern port city of Hai Phong from June 19 to 21, 2026. The event aims to celebrate the success of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam and mark the 101st anniversary of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925–2026).
The National Press Festival 2026 officially opened in the northern port city of Hai Phong on June 19 under the theme "Vietnamese journalism – Loyalty, Creativity, Responsibility in the New Era", drawing around 1,000 delegates from across the country.
Trinh Van Quyet, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Chairman of its Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilisation, called on journalists nationwide to stay close to reality, uphold the Party characteristic and people-centred orientation of the press, remain absolutely loyal to the Fatherland and the revolutionary cause, and continuously innovate and master new technologies.
A delegation of more than 50 foreign journalists attended an exchange programme in Hai Phong, gaining deeper insights into the local investment environment, industrial production activities, socio-economic development, and distinctive cultural identity.
