The tourism sector will implement a series of key tasks and solutions in the last six months of 2026 to realise the goal of making tourism a leading economic industry in the new development era.
Recalling Party General Secretary To Lam’s assessment at the international press conference on January 23, Ambassador Trinh Duc Hai affirmed that the 14th National Party Congress was a “milestone” in the 96-year history of the Communist Party of Vietnam, embodying a high spirit of solidarity and consensus and reflecting the will, resolve, development aspirations, and cultural depth of the Party and the people in the new development era.
Prof. George Toloraya noted that the 14th Party Congress represents a pivotal shift from Vietnam’s role as a “factory of the world” toward its ambition to become a high-tech powerhouse, with development quality reaching a higher level.
Ambassador Dang Minh Khoi emphasised that in order to achieve fast development in the coming period, including double-digit growth, foreign affairs must play a proactive role in mobilising external resources while internal strength remains the decisive factor.
The 14th National Party Congress also sets a target of strong economic growth, with average GDP growth of about 10% during the 2026–2030 period. This is not merely a growth figure but is closely linked to improving quality of life, employment, and income for the people.
Vietnam and Laos are entering a new phase of development, with both parties, nations, and peoples steadfastly committed to progressing together, deepening their enduring friendship, broadening cooperation for mutual prosperity, and for peace, stability, and development in the region and the world.
The resolution establishes concrete health targets for 2030, including increasing average life expectancy to 75.5 years with at least 68 years of healthy living. Children and adolescents aged 1-18 should grow an additional 1.5 centimetres in average height, while vaccination coverage for essential immunisation programmes must exceed 95%.
