The new network aims to improve identification and management of potential donors, especially brain-dead patients, and to coordinate counseling, outreach and the receipt of donated organs.
Despite storm-related disruptions and flight delays, the organs were successfully transported via a combination of air and ground travel. All patients are currently stable and recovering well.
In the past three years, Vietnam has consistently recorded over 1,000 successful transplants annually – the highest in the region.
