Once a symbol of pollution in Hanoi, To Lich River is now undergoing a remarkable transformation. Water quality in many sections is clear, and foul odors have diminished. Greenery lines both banks, wastewater collection systems are in place, and sanitation workers keep the riverbanks clean – a stark contrast to the heavily polluted river of the past.
