Defence cooperation between Vietnam and the US has developed positively and been implemented effectively across a range of areas, including post-war recovery, dialogue and consultations, training, United Nations peacekeeping, cooperation between military services and branches, military medicine, defence industry, and humanitarian assistance and disaster relief.

Post-war recovery cooperation is the best way that helps Vietnam and the US heal the wound of war, contributing to building trust and expanding the bilateral collaboration in many other fields, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ha Kim Ngoc said on June 26.

Deputy Minister of National Defence Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien and US Assistant Secretary of Defence Dr Ely Ratner co-chaired the annual Vietnam – US Defence Policy Dialogue in Washington, D.C on September 19 (local time).
