Hanoi builds attractive investment ecosystem for FDI enterprises

Ho Chi Minh City shifts focus to new-generation FDI

Ho Chi Minh City is currently home to 20,259 FDI projects with total registered capital of nearly 142 billion USD from 152 countries and territories. In the first half of 2026, the city attracted more than 6.8 billion USD, fulfilling 62% of its annual target.

Vietnam moves to tackle double challenge in FDI attraction in next phase

The challenge was seen in the Politburo's Resolution No. 10-NQ/TW on developing the foreign-invested sector, which sets ambitious targets for the 2026–2030 period. Vietnam aims to attract 200–300 billion USD in registered FDI, equivalent to 40–50 billion USD annually, while disbursed capital is expected to reach 150–200 billion USD, or 30–40 billion USD each year.

Vietnam shifts FDI attraction strategy towards higher quality, greater efficiency

Vietnam’s approach is undergoing a fundamental transformation. While attracting international resources was the central priority over the past nearly four decades, the next phase will focus on enhancing the effectiveness of those resources in synergy with domestic capacities to strengthen development capabilities, economic resilience and national competitiveness.

National conference held to disseminate Politburo's Resolution No. 10-NQ/TW

Party General Secretary and State President To Lam attended and delivered a keynote speech at the event, which was linked to nearly 35,000 venues from central to commune levels, government agencies and military units, attracting almost 2.1 million delegates. It was broadcast live on Vietnam Television and Voice of Vietnam channels.

High-tech FDI attraction set as strategic priority: official

The resolution sets out a number of specific targets for foreign investment attraction during the 2026–2030 period. Annual registered FDI is targeted at between 40 billion USD and 50 billion USD, while realised capital is expected to reach approximately 30–40 billion USD per year.
