Lang Son has a diverse border-gate system, including the Huu Nghi International Border Gate, Dong Dang International Railway Border Gate, Chi Ma and Tan Thanh border gates. Capitalising on these advantages and mobilising non-budgetary investment, the province has upgraded border-gate infrastructure and logistics facilities, including warehouses, parking areas, and customs services.
Authorities of the northern province of Lang Son and Pingxiang city in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of China held talks on May 15 at Tan Thanh (Vietnam) – Po Chai (China) clearance point near markers 1090–1091 in Hoang Van Thu commune of Lang Son to promote trade, develop smart border gates and expand cross-border tourism cooperation.
As the digital economy accelerates worldwide, Vietnam is no exception. In this context, smart border gates are opening up new opportunities for import–export activities, creating strong momentum for the development of the country’s border trade economy. Globally, many countries have been actively rolling out smart border and smart gate models to enhance border security while promoting international trade.
The two sides discussed ways to accelerate joint projects and agreements and expand the list of Vietnam’s exports to China. They also proposed boosting cooperation in vocational training, especially in high-tech industries and sustainable agriculture, to meet the development needs of both sides.
