Displaying flowers during the Lunar New Year (Tet) has long been a cherished cultural tradition of the Vietnamese people, symbolising harmony between humans and nature at the sacred moment of transition into a new year.

Farmers in two major flower villages in the Cuu Long (Mekong) Delta region, Sa Dec in Dong Thap province and Cai Mon in Ben Tre province, are busy planting seeds for the Lunar New Year flower crop, which falls on February 10 this year.

With the Lunar New Year 2023 fast approaching, farmers in flower growing areas of the Central Highlands’ province of Dak Lak are busy harvesting their Tet flowers. Traders are also arriving to buy the flowers for sale in other localities.

As the Tet (Lunar New Year) holiday is approaching, people in Ho Chi Minh City and across the country are opening their wallets to buy special ornamental plants and imported flowers to decorate their homes for the nation's biggest festival.

Ahead of Tet holiday, Hanoi’s streets are filled with flowers and colourful decorations, with people excited for the new year.
