​According to preliminary statistics from Vietnam's Customs Department, as of August 15 this year the country's shrimp exports to China (including Hong Kong) surged by up to 76% over the same period last year, reaching nearly 767 million USD and accounting for nearly 29% of the country's total shrimp export turnover.

The price of tra fish (pangasius) in the Mekong Delta is increasing amid shortages of breeding fish in the past five months, said the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD).

Price of material shrimp, especially tiger prawn, was on the rise in August, said the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Vietnam’s fishery output in the first half of this year reached 1.6 million tonnes, up 4.8 percent against the same period last year and fulfilling 54.8 percent of the yearly target.

Vietnam’s aquatic export value in the first quarter of this year hit 1.36 billion USD, up 1.7 percent year-on-year, according to statistics from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
