Over generations, artisans have produced a wide range of handicrafts, including furniture, tea trays, tea canisters, decorative paintings and flower vases. Many have also created portraits of President Ho Chi Minh, General Vo Nguyen Giap, Cuban leader Fidel Castro and other prominent figures.
Representatives from the Association of Thai Silk & Culture Promotions, joined by diplomats and honorary consuls from more than 13 countries, met with Minister Attached to the Prime Minister’s Office Supamas Isarabhakdi on May 6 to present details of the festival.
The President affirmed that the Party and State have always paid close attention to and highly valued the development of craft villages and artisans. Numerous guidelines and policies have been issued to provide opportunities for artisans to grow, express their talent and creativity, and preserve traditional cultural products rich in identity.
The exhibition provides an opportunity for units to exchange experiences in preserving and promoting the values of cultural heritage and natural resources, enhancing regional connectivity, and raising the status of Vietnamese tourism on the world tourism map.
At the Thai Festival, from March 28 night to March 30 morning in Hanoi, visitors explored typical Thai dishes, along with health care and beauty care products and traditional handicrafts. They also enjoyed traditional dances from many regions of Thailand, tried making Khanom Krok coconut cakes and painting patterns on silk, among other activities.
