Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his spouse will lead a high-ranking delegation of Vietnam to attend the expanded BRICS summit and engage in bilateral activities in Brazil from July 4 – 8. Vietnam and Brazil officially established diplomatic relations on May 8, 1989. Over 35 years since the establishment of diplomatic ties, Vietnam-Brazil relations have been continuously strengthened and developed.

Acting President Vo Thi Anh Xuan and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on May 8 sent messages of congratulations to Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva on the occasion of the 35th founding anniversary of Vietnam-Brazil diplomatic ties (May 8, 1989 – 2024).

Over the past 35 years, the relationship between Vietnam and Brazil has been developing positively in all fields, becoming more substantive and effective with closer political ties and trust, and expanded economic and trade cooperation, stated Vietnamese Ambassador to Brazil Bui Van Nghi.

Vietnam is one of the most important partners of Brazil in Southeast Asia, Eduardo Paes Saboia, Secretary for Asia and the Pacific at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil, has stated at the Vietnam-Brazil meeting recently held by the Vietnamese Embassy in Brasilia.
