Participants affirmed that sustaining and expanding international cooperation not only improve the effectiveness of activities at the Vietnam Friendship Village, but also help to spread a humanitarian message of peace, reconciliation and shared responsibility in addressing the consequences of war.

The Vietnam Friendship Village celebrated its 25th founding anniversary (March 18, 1998) and received the second-class Labour Order at a ceremony in Hanoi on April 3.

The Vietnam Friendship Village, set up 20 years ago, has contributed to ease the pain for Agent Orange (AO)/dioxin victims by giving nursing services and vocational training to AO-infected veterans and children.
