The annual event is one of Bulgaria’s largest international cultural festivals, attracting more than 20,000 visitors, including local residents, international tourists and members of Asian communities living and working in the country.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Bulgaria Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet stressed that the two countries possess complementary strengths. Bulgaria can serve as a gateway for Vietnamese businesses to access Southeast Europe and the EU, while Vietnam is a key transit point for Bulgarian enterprises to expand into the dynamic ASEAN region.
According to the diplomat, Vietnam–Bulgaria ties have been growing, driven by collaboration in trade, education, culture and people-to-people exchanges.
Vietnam is a key partner for Bulgaria in Southeast Asia, with potential for future joint work in IT, innovation, green transition, digital transformation, high-tech agriculture, and pharmaceuticals.
The 75-year diplomatic milestone is described as a testament to the steadfast and enduring friendship nurtured by generations of leaders and citizens from Vietnam and Bulgaria.
Coming to the Vietnamese booth, visitors had the chance to take part in a bamboo dance, a workshop on painting woven bamboo or rattan, or quizzes about Vietnam.
