In June, Vietnam exported 23,103 tonnes of pepper worth 151.3 million USD, down from the previous month as shipments to Asia, Africa and the Americas slowed, while demand from Europe remained stable.

According to the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA), the country exported 19,430 tonnes of pepper in October, including 16,464 tonnes of black and 2,966 tonnes of white pepper, with a total value of 129.5 million USD.

Vietnam exported about 188,000 tonnes of pepper worth 1.27 billion USD in the first nine months of 2025, down 6.3% in volume but up 28.7% in value year-on-year, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade. The average export price reached 6,774 USD per tonne, up 37% from 2024.

Vietnam's pepper export earnings surged 40.8 percent year-on-year to 764 million U.S. dollars in the first seven months of this year, according to the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association.

Vietnam ranks 3rd globally in spice supply and processing, behind India and China, with pepper remaining the world’s top export.

Pepper prices are forecast to soon exceed 100,000 VND per kilo on the domestic market.

An event was held in the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak on November 20 to review a project on promoting sustainable production and trade of Vietnamese pepper.

The Vietnam Pepper Association (VPA) recently coordinated with the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Vietnamese Embassy in France to hold a business matching event in Paris to boost pepper trading.

Pepper prices this year are unlikely to recover after a strong reduction in 2019 due to abundant supply.
