Vietnam is aiming to export cashews worth 4.5 billion USD in 2025, up 2.7% year-on-year, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment. To hit this target, the sector must generate around 2.2 billion USD in the second half.

Vietnam exported 42,199 tonnes of cashew nuts worth 327 million USD to China in the first eight months of 2019, up 60.8 percent in volume and 35.4 percent in value year-on-year, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

Vietnam’s cashew industry would need to restructure production and processing in order to ensure enough raw materials for sustainable development, according to experts.
