A Vietnamese delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh attended the 26th ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) in Bangkok on August 2, within the framework of the 52nd ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting and related meetings.
The ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) workshop on implementing the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) and other international instruments towards address emerging maritime issues was held in Nha Trang city in the central coastal province of Khanh Hoa on February 26.
The 25th ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) took place in Singapore on August 4 with the participation of foreign ministers from 26 countries and the European Union (EU)’s representative.

A statement on enhancing cooperation among law enforcement agencies at sea proposed by Vietnam was adopted at the 23 rd ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) in Vientiane, Laos, on July 26.
The 19th ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF 19) took place in Phnom Penh,
Cambodia, on July 12 with the participation of 10 ASEAN members and
the bloc’s important partners.

Ensuring regional peace, security and cooperation is the major goal of
politics-security cooperation among the ASEAN nations and between the
bloc and its partners.
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung on October 11 separately received the
Defence Ministers of China, the US and Japan , who are in Hanoi
to attend the first ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting Plus (ADMM+).
The ASEAN Senior Officials’ Meeting (SOM) was held in the southern
province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau from August 23-24 under the chair of
Vietnamese Assistant Foreign Minister and Head of SOM ASEAN-Vietnam Pham
Quang Vinh.
The 17 th ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF), the last ministerial meeting
within the framework of the 43 rd ASEAN ministerial meetings and
related meetings, took place in Hanoi on July 23 under the
chairmanship of Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign
Affairs Pham Gia Khiem.
The 43rd ASEAN Foreign Ministers Meeting (AMM-43) wrapped up in
Hanoi on July 20 after adopting a joint communique with the theme
"Enhanced Efforts towards the ASEAN Community: from Vision to
Action”.
The fourth Meeting of the ASEAN Political and Security Community Council
(APSC) and the Meeting of the Commission for the Southeast Asia Nuclear
Weapons Free Zone (SEANWFZ) took place in Hanoi on July 19.
ASEAN senior officials have reviewed final preparations for the 43rd AMM and related ministerial meetings
between the bloc and its partners to take place in Hanoi from July
19-23.
