Despite difficulties due to weather, natural disasters and epidemics, agro-forestry-fishery exports set new record of 48.6 billion USD in 2021, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
There is one month to go before year-end but 11-month agro-forestry-fishery exports have almost hit the annual target for 2021, reaching nearly 43.5 billion USD, an all-time high that far exceeds 2020.
The value of agro-forestry-fishery exports reached over 4.1 billion USD in November alone, which was conducive to a hope for the exports to obtain over 47 billion USD for the entire year.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) expects to exceed its annual export target for agricultural, forest and fishery products, thanks to the restoration of production and business after the COVID-19 outbreak.

Although challenges lie ahead, there remains room for agro-forestry-fishery exports to increase in 2020, according to Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Xuan Cuong.
For 2020, Vietnam’s agricultural sector targets a gross domestic product (GDP) growth rate of 2.8 – 3 percent and an agro-forestry-fishery export turnover of more than 42 billion USD.
The agro-forestry-fishery sector raked in 3.6 billion USD from exports in October, raising the total export revenue in 10 months to 33.18 billion, rising 1.6 percent from the same time last year.
Vietnam exported 30.02 billion USD worth of agro-forestry-fishery products in the first nine months of 2019, a year-on-year rise of 2.7 percent, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
