Delegations of military officers and soldiers set sail for Truong Sa (Spratly) on January 4 to visit those performing duties on Vietnam’s archipelago on the occasion of the coming Lunar New Year (Tet) festival.
The “Border spring-Island Tet 2019” programme was launched at the Cam Ranh military port in the south central coastal province of Khanh Hoa on January 3.
Four ships carrying officers, soldiers, journalists as well as New Year gifts departed from Cam Ranh military port, in the central province of Khanh Hoa, on January 6 for Truong Sa archipelago.
The sixth and last Kilo-class submarine that Vietnam has purchased from Russia arrived at Cam Ranh military port in the central coastal province of Khanh Hoa on January 20.
