The Russia-Ukraine conflict will have no significant influence on Cambodia’s rice exports, according to the Cambodia Rice Federation (CRF).

Cambodia shipped 118,401 tonnes of rice to China in the first half of 2019, an annual increase of 66 percent.

Cambodia exported 271,500 tonnes of rice in the first six months of 2018, down 5.9 percent from 288,500 tonnes over the same period last year.

Bangladesh signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Cambodia on August 2 to buy 1 million tonnes of rice within the next five years.

Cambodia exported 342,136 tonnes of rice in the first eight months of 2015 and the country finds it hard to reach its goal of exporting one million tonnes of rice.
