An Indonesian police counterterrorism squad has arrested five suspected terrorists in Central Sulawesi Province, according a police spokesman.

The Indonesian National Police said on July 2 that its counterterrorism squad has arrested a suspected terrorist who is believed to be a member of the outlawed Jemaah Islamiyah (JI) in North Sumatra province.

The Indonesia police anti-terror squad recently arrested six terror suspects in Lampung, West Sumatra and Riau Islands, Xinhua News Agency reported on November 8, citing police sources.

Indonesian police have arrested 74 terror suspects after a suicide bombing targeted the police headquarters of Medan, the capital city of North Sumatra province.

The Indonesian National Police's Counterterrorism Squad, Densus 88, is probing a likely involvement of the Islamic state (ISIS) group in a string of riots in the Indonesian provinces of Papua and West Papua, Indonesia’s Antara News Agency reported.
