Complying with the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) and promoting the ASEAN’s central role are a policy choice of Vietnam in settling disputes in the South China Sea (called the East Sea in Vietnam), said a local official.
Two entries from the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) have won the Excellent Press Award of the East Sea Studies Awards 2018 organised by the Foundation for East Sea Studies (FESS).

The ninth East Sea International Conference opened in Ho Chi Minh City on November 27, focusing on the theme “Cooperation for Regional Security and Development”.
Outstanding research works on the East Sea in 2015 were honoured by the Foundation for East Sea Studies (FESS) of the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam in Hanoi on March 21.
