Ambassador Dang Dinh Quy, Permanent Representative of Vietnam the United Nations (UN), has reaffirmed Vietnam’s support for the UN’s strategy to promote security and sustainable development in the Great Lakes Region in Africa.
Vietnam and Indonesia have emphasised the need to give priority to promoting intra-regional cooperation in the Great Lakes Region in Africa on the basis of peace and stability goals, and called for support from the international community for the region.
Regional and international cooperation are two crucial factors to wipe out security instability in Africa’s Great Lakes region in natural resources management, Ambassador Dang Dinh Quy, head of the Vietnamese mission to the United Nations (UN), said at a video conference held by the UN Security Council on July 15 via the Arria-formula meeting.
