In the eyes of international visitors, Sa Pa is known as an ancient city covered in fog with a pedestrian walkway through picturesque terraced fields. ​

Sa Pa town in the northern mountainous province of Lao Cai welcomed more than 77,000 visitors in the nine-day Lunar New Year holiday from February 2-10, up 17 percent over the same time in 2018, including 7,600 foreign tourists.

A Summer Festival will take place in the mountainous resort town of Sa Pa in Lao Cai from April to June, featuring various activities to commemorate the Lao Cai – Northwest National Tourism Year 2017.
