The Cat Linh-Ha Dong urban metro line has transported nearly 6 million passengers during more than nine months of operation, according to Hanoi Metro One Member Limited Company (Hanoi Metro) – a State-owned enterprise specialising in the operation and maintenance of urban railway in Hanoi.
Elevated sections of the urban railway from Nhon to Hanoi Station must be completed before December 31, 2022 said Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh during a meeting with contractors and leaders of concerned ministries and Hanoi on August 7.
Statistics from Hanoi Metro company show that, from its first day of commercial operation in November last year to May 26, more than 3.1 million passengers have used the Cat Linh-Ha Dong 2A line.
Trains on the Nhon – Hanoi Railway Station metro line were put on a trial run at a maximum speed of 80 km per hour on December 6. The trains departed from the S1 Station (Nhon) and ran to S8 Station (Cau Giay district) and returned. The distance between the two stations is 8.5 km.
Analysts from real estate consultants Savills Vietnam have advised investors to focus more on new urban areas in Hanoi, especially those with convenient infrastructure networks.
More than 80 percent of respondents surveyed about the proposed train design for the city’s metro line 3 rated the plans highly and over 90 percent of them said they would love to try the new means of transport when the metro line is officially operational.
