The Ho Chi Minh City Federation of Labour together with grassroots trade unions, 21 districts and Thu Duc city presented 200,000 welfare bags to workers returning to work.
The Ho Chi Minh City Federation of Labour announced on October 7 that it has spent over 1.39 trillion VND (60.4 million USD) as relief aid for 2.4 million trade union members, workers, civil servants, labourers and their children affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in the city.
As many as 36 buses departed Ho Chi Minh City to carry over 1,500 poor workers free of charge to their hometowns for the traditional Tet (Lunar New Year) festival on January 30.
The Ho Chi Minh City Federation of Labour hosted a feast day, the 10th of its kind, in the city on February 5, attracting 600 local workers who could not afford a journey to their homes.
