The island commune of Hon Nghe in Kien Luong district, the southern province of Kien Giang, has been connected with the national grid, a move that is hoped to spur local economic growth.
The Southern Power Corporation has urged contractors to hasten the construction of two projects to bring electricity to Lai Son and Hon Nghe island communes in Kien Giang province in September.
The EVNSPC is finalising three projects to supply power to two island communes as well as in-need localities which are home to Khmer people in the southern province of Kien Giang within this year.
Hon Nghe island commune in Kien Luong district, the southwestern province of Kien Giang will link to the national grid in 2016 as a power supply project started in Rach Gia city on October 10.
