Vietnam imported 70 percent of its beef this year, with domestic beef accounting for only 30 percent of the market.

The animal feed industry of Vietnam, despite being among the world’s fastest-growing by scale and output, is dominated by foreign firms while local producers are struggling to compete.

Vietnam is currently ASEAN’s biggest animal feed producer and the tenth biggest in the world, according to the Husbandry Department, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
