The Vietnamese Party, State and army always attach much importance to the relations with Laos, said Minister of National Defence Ngo Xuan Lich, who is visiting Laos from January 15-17.
Lao Party General Secretary and President Bounnhang Volachith chaired a meeting with diplomatic corps in Vientiane on December 1 on the occasion of the country’s 42nd National Day (December 2).
National Assembly Vice Chairwoman Tong Thi Phong visited Laos to attend activities to mark the 55th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties and 40 years of the signing of the Vietnam-Laos Treaty of Amity and Cooperation.
Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Tri Dung has expressed wish that Lao leaders will continue to assist Vietnamese firms in doing business in the country in order to lift two-way trade.
The Vietnamese Government will continue doing its utmost to coordinate with the Lao side in nurturing the two countries’ traditional friendship and cooperation, said Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.
General Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and State President Bounnhang Volachith will pay an official friendship visit to Vietnam from April 25-27.
