COVID-19 cases are projected to surge during Laos’ traditional new year festival in mid-April, the country’s Ministry of Health warned.

A get-together was held in University of Education under Thai Nguyen University on April 12 to celebrate the traditional New Year of Laos – Bunpimay.

Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh wished the Party, State and people of Laos happiness and a successful New Year when attending a ceremony to welcome their traditional Bun Pi May festival held by the Lao Embassy in Hanoi April 12.

The Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association of northern Thai Nguyen province on April 9 hosted a celebration of the traditional New Year Festival of Laos – Bunpimay – for Lao students in the province.
