The Government is considering withdrawing a proposal from the Ministry of Finance (MoF) to increase environmental taxes on fuel products to the maximum of 8,000 VND (0.35 USD), stating the move requires further consideration.
Members of the National Assembly’s Standing Committee gave their opinions on a draft resolution regarding environmental protection taxes during their sitting on July 12 as part of the committee’s 25th meeting.
The fifth session of the 14th National Assembly (NA) is scheduled to take place from May 21 to June 18, 2018, heard the December 13 sitting of the NA Standing Committee as part of its ongoing 19th meeting.
When a bill on amendments and supplements to the Law on Environmental Protection Tax is approved by the National Assembly, environmental protection taxes on HCFC (hydro-choloro-flouro-carbon) solution and plastic bags might be raised because these products have critical impacts on the environment, said a finance official.
