The northern port city of Hai Phong will spray disinfectant over entire city two to three times a week during a period of 15 days, starting March 27, in an effort to cope with new developments in the COVID-19 epidemic in the country.
With robust economic growth and a sound business climate, the northern port city of Hai Phong has remained popular among both domestic and foreign investors, said Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Van Tung.
Vietnam’s newest airline Bamboo Airways officially opened commercial air routes from the northern port city of Hai Phong to the central coastal city of Quy Nhon, the southern economic hub of Ho Chi Minh City, and the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho at a ceremony on May 10.
The Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) of the northern port city of Hai Phong is expected to grow 15.5 percent and its domestic budget collection is projected to exceed 26.3 trillion VND (1.1 billion USD) in 2019.
The business community in Hai Phong has made great contributions to the northern port city’s development, said Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Van Tung.
Ho Chi Minh City’s Investigation Police Agency on April 20 started criminal proceedings against Nguyen Van Tung, Director of Hung Thanh Co. Ltd., for his alleged violations in fire safety regulations.
