Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan met with Vice President of the Portuguese parliament Edite Estrela, held talks with Foreign Minister Augusto Santos Silva and chaired a business dialogue forum on October 29, as part of her working trip to the European country.
Senior officials of the parliament and government of Portugal have expressed the country’s strong commitment to substantively enhancing relations with Vietnam while meeting with a delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) in Lisbon.
Portugal attaches special importance to and wishes to deepen the friendship and cooperation, including legislative ties, with Vietnam, President of the Portuguese Parliament Eduardo Ferro Rodrigues told visiting Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh.
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung had a meeting on June 3 in Lisbon with
President of the Portuguese Parliament Maria da Assunsao who affirmed
that the Portugal’s legislative body supports Vietnam in fostering
ties with the European Union.
