Myanmar’s Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) has dismissed 17 senior members, including former party chairman and speaker of the lower house Shwe Mann, local media reported on April 25.
Myanmar’s opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi and Parliament Speaker U Shwe Mann have agreed in a joint statement to place emphasis on national reconciliation and national harmony.
The 12th regular session of Myanmar's House of Representatives (the lower house), which was adjourned on July 24 due to flooding, resumed in Nay Pyi Taw on August 18.
