A memorial service and burial ceremony was held in the Mekong Delta province of An Giang on July 20 for 99 sets of remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers who fell in the Delta or Cambodia during wartime.
A service was held at a martyr cemetery in the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak on April 28 to re-bury remains of 13 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who laid down their lives in Cambodia during wartime.
Carrying out search and repatriation of 1,500-2,000 sets of remains of Vietnamese soldiers who laid down their lives in Laos and Cambodia during wartime is a key task of the national steering committee on search, repatriation and identification of remains of fallen soldiers (Steering Committee 515) in 2020.
The remains of 30 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who laid down their lives during wartime in Laos, were repatriated from Oudomxay province in northern Laos on December 13.
