The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate for the US dollars at 23,085 VND/USD on January 17, up 3 VND from the last working day of previous week (January 14).
The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate at 23,207 VND/USD on December 13, up 32 VND from the last working day of the previous week.
The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) set the daily reference exchange rate at 23,145 VND per USD on November 14, up 6 VND from the previous day (November 13).
The daily reference exchange rate was set at 23,100 VND per USD on August 5, the highest level so far, up 10 VND from the last working of previous week (August 2).
Remittances to Vietnam have increased despite the rise in USD price against other currencies and the zero interest rate for foreign currency savings, factors experts said would impact remittance flow.
The recent increase in the VND/USD exchange rate was due to inside and outside impacts such as some poor sessions in the domestic stock market and the USD price rise globally, according to Pham Thanh Ha, head of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV)’s Monetary Policy Department.
