VPBank Hanoi Marathon 2021 is delayed to December 26 and even March 6 next year if the COVID-19 pandemic remains complicated in the capital city, according to the Vietnam Sports Administration under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Close to 7,000 people have registered to participate in the VPBank Hanoi Marathon ASEAN 2020, the Vietnam Sports Administration under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism unveiled on September 23.
An online race “Home marathon in support of white-blouse angles to win the COVID-19 pandemic” has been launched by the organising board of VPBank Hanoi Marathon ASEAN 2020.
A ceremony to start the VPBank Hanoi Marathon was held in the heart of Hanoi on October 20, with 7,000 professional and amateur athletes taking part, over 1,500 of them foreigners.
The VPBank Hanoi Marathon has become an official international marathon tournament in the capital city, the organising board told a press conference in Hanoi on October 16.
Up to 1,000 international athletes have registered to compete in the VPBank Hanoi Marathon (VHM) to be held in the capital city on October 20, organisers said.
