A ceremony to mark the 60th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s visit to Baku, capital of Azerbaijan, was held in Hanoi on July 2.

Vietnam and Azerbaijan established diplomatic relations on September 23, 1992. The traditional bilateral friendship has constantly developed ever since.

The diplomatic sectors of Vietnam and Azerbaijan discussed ways to increase their coordination at a conference in Hanoi on March 12.

Truong Thi Mai, Politburo member, Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee, and head of its Commission for Mass Mobilisation, received a New Azerbaijan Party delegation led by Sevinj Fataliyeva, head of its International Relations Department, in Hanoi on December 11.

Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Uong Chu Luu affirmed Vietnam’s commitment to expanding partnership with Azerbaijan in many areas while addressing a ceremony marking the 100th anniversary of the first legislative body of Azerbaijan on September 21.
